Karl Sorenson

The next ten years were filled with raising my family, completing my B.S. in Education and teaching school for three years.

In April of ’83, I became licensed to sell real estate and became a broker/owner of Columbia Falls Realty in 1985. After 17 years at Columbia Falls Realty, I have now opened Columbia Falls Real Estate & Rentals and am working with my brother and nephew. Columbia Falls Real Estate & Rentals is a small family owned and operated business which specializes in friendly, competent service.

My interests are mainly in youth athletics where I have coached and refereed for many years. I am currently a registered MOA official in wrestling, football and girl’s fast pitch softball.

I was raised an “East Sider” in Malta and Cut Bank but my visits to the Flathead Valley to Grandma’s house north of Columbia Falls convinced me to move here after getting out of the Army in 1973.

I am a Montana native, 2nd generation and first visited the Flathead Valley to visit my grandparents in the early 40s. I moved to Columbia Falls in 1967 and have lived here every since.

While working at the aluminum smelter I attended Flathead Valley Community College and received my degree in 1972. During most of my thirty-four year tenure at the aluminum plant I was a union officer in Local 320 and retired in January 2002. For the past twenty years while working at the aluminum plant I also work as a real estate salesman part-time. I am now working full-time in real estate.

My interests include hunting and I am a member of Ducks Unlimited.

Where else can someone live where you can go hiking in Glacier National Park or white-water rafting on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River in the summer and downhill skiing at Big Mountain or Blacktail Mountain in the winter?

I am a 3rd generation Montanan. My great-grandparents settled in the Flathead Valley in 1938. I have strong ties to the Flathead Valley.

I have a variety of interests and hobbies. My latest project has been restoring/rebuilding a 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS. I also own a 1973 Buick Riviera. The Chevelle is my hot rod and the Riviera is my road car.

I was born in Whitefish Montana in 1968. Columbia Falls is my home and has been for a great many years. I grew up and spent most of my life in the Flathead Valley, graduating from Columbia Falls High School. The Flathead Valley is a special place.
